Ways to Develop Your Psychic Power



Acknowledgment : The first step in developing your psychic ability (which we all have) is to acknowledge that the ability exists. Take the time to research the subject – read articles, read biographies, read all that you can, and see how many of the experiences that you are reading about have happened to you. When we take the time to look, we see just how often our psychic ability does show up in our daily lives, without our even knowing it.


Practice : As with all things, we connect and “grow” our psychic ability through practice. Set aside time to practice. Make sure the environment is quiet, and that you will not be disturbed. Play soothing music in the background to help quiet your mind. Picture a tranquil scene in your mind – sitting beside a stream, walking through a meadow, whatever represents a quiet “getaway” to you. Make this picture as strong as you can, and return to it each time that you practice. Once in your getaway, allow thoughts to come to you. At the end of the session (which can be as long, or short, as you wish it to be), note in a journal the thoughts that you remember (you may not remember all of them).


Concentration : When a random thought comes to you, focus on it. Information is being brought to you for a reason. Don’t worry about why it is being brought to you; simply acknowledge what you are hearing. It will become apparent if this is something you are to act on, or to share with a specific person (or people).


Energy Scanning : This is an exercise that you do with a friend. Stand approximately four feet apart, with your eyes closed. Take several deep breaths to ground yourselves. With your mental eye, see the other person as pure energy. Note the colors and patterns that you see, note any words, numbers, or symbols that seem to be floating around in this energy. After a minute or two, both people come back to consciousness, and share their findings with each other.


Prediction : The art of prediction is one way of telling whether you have been able to strengthen your psychic ability or not. It is very simple: when the phone rings, take a moment to focus on the phone, and the person calling. Literally – see if you can tell who is calling before you pick up the phone. When you enter a room, take the room’s “temperature”. Is there a sense of tenseness? Are the people in the room happy? When you encounter other people, focus closely on them for a moment. Do they seem happy? Do they seem sad? Are they nervous? Try this in different situations – the more you work with it, the easier it will be to allow thoughts to flow through you.


Sensing through Objects : Start with objects that belong to people that you know. The reason for this is that they will be able to verify any thoughts or feelings that come to you while you are holding the object. Hold the object in your hands, and make note of any visions that you see, of any thoughts that come to you, of any emotions that you feel, of any scents that you smell – the object that you are holding carries a history of vibrations within it, and they are available to you. Take a few minutes, and then share whatever you experienced with the person that the object belongs to so that they can verify your impressions.


Acknowledging Premonitions : Each of us at times has visions, or premonitions, of things in our mind that have not actually happened yet. We are picking up thoughts that are out there in the universe – what we don’t realize at the time is that this represents an opening up of our psychic senses. Jotting these types of premonitions down in a journal is helpful. In this way, we can see if they come true, and in what way they come true. As we place our focus on them, we have a better chance of understanding them.


Accepting Your Ability : Each time you have a psychic experience, note it down, and have it verified by the events actually happening, you are verifying your ability to access your psychic nature. As you come to accept and trust your ability, your confidence will grow, and your ability will grow.


Impressions : Before you begin your day, take a moment to quiet your mind. Then ask yourself what you will encounter in this day, and whom you will encounter. Accept all impressions, so as not to limit them with logic. At the end of your day, revisit this list, and see how much of this actually came to pass.


Meditation : Take time each day – even as little as ten minutes – and meditate. This does not have to be complicated – simply find a quiet place, and start following your breath. As conscious thoughts come to you, acknowledge and release them. Breathe deeply, and connect with yourself in the present moment. This gives you access to your unconscious self, and it grounds and centers you.
